Course Description

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the concept of conflict and managerial conflict resolution employing a variety of perspectives from which to view conflict in order to develop successful interventions. There is no organization without conflicts and no social group without disputes. Conflict in organizations or workplaces is inevitable. However, the consequences of poorly managed conflict can be very costly to individuals, groups, and entire organizations. Those who are able to identify conflicts and who understand conflict dynamics are able to implement solutions in a wide range of conflict situations.

The concepts and skills of conflict or problem management is the optimal means of resolving conflicts between employees in the organization in the purpose of improving their future communications and working relationships can be a cost-efficient option of resolution by creating a win-win solution to disputes and transforms the continuing working relationship. This course also addresses conflict in organizations or workplaces including intrapersonal, interpersonal, intragroup, and intergroup conflict.
